We really enjoy the food at Cote and have visited many times. The staff are friendly and welcoming, providing a good service. The restaurant is clean and attractive. We always ask for the set menu, which is reasonably priced and has a great selection of dishes. Recently, 3 of us went, and we had 3 glasses of wine. 2 people had 2x courses (sea bass/crepe and chocolate mousse) 1 person 3 courses - fishcake, steak, plums. The total, including service charge, was £90. It's not cheap but the food was excellent food. The restaurant was busy, and the atmosphere was chatty, not too loud. We hadn't pre booked, and it was a Thursday, but it may be wise for the weekend. There's a pay and display car park next to the restaurant. A good place to visit.
Good food and ambience. My sea bream was pretty tasty, although it would’ve been nice if the skin had been crisp throughout. Maybe the large amount of tapenade on top turned it soggy. I recommend the chocolate salted caramel tart for dessert. Really enjoyed that. FYI, the clementines that come with the tarte au citron are poached in some sort of alcohol, which was a little off-putting for my MIL. Overall, though, we all liked the food.
We unfortunately did have an accident when being served hot tea. Luckily I still had on my black coat, so I did not get scalded nor have to deal with visible tea stains on my clothes. This was honestly the best case scenario. Staff were very apologetic and handled it professionally.
Lunch to celebrate a birthday. Found an outside table in the shade. Deceptively spacious restaurant with plenty of tables inside and out. Service was first class and very attentive. Varied and appealing menu and most certainly value for money. First visit but would absolutely book again in the months to come.
